Sneak Peek - Family Room

Look, more distressed hickory, just yards and yards of it! Yay! And I love the ceiling fans, too. I love the extra tall windows, but I know I'll have to open those windows on the top not the bottom, or you know SOMEONE would fall right out and down 15 feet to the ground outside! I love the trim on the fireplace, too. Stephanie, any ideas on a floor plan? Any free advice?! I think it's this room that will be the main quiet activity place... movies, school, read alouds, the library will be mostly in here, and family worship will probably take place here, too, so it should seat eight at a minimum comfortably.

  1. You are killing me with these sneak peaks!! I want you to get this house so badly :) It's just gorgeous Melissa!! I loved the kitchen, loved the dining room and now I love this family room! Such beautiful floors and windows and I agree, that fireplace trim is very nice. And all the black fixtures in every room...amazing. If I were you, I would almost split that room in two, with a cozy seating area centered around the fireplace and anchored by a great area rug-(maybe 2 sofas and 1 chair OR 1 sofa, 1 loveseat and 2 chairs OR a big sectional??) and behind the seating area I would put a round table that you could use for games, studies, casual eating, etc. Looks like you have room for all of that?? Now that my sister and her husband live in Virginia Beach, hopefully we will be able to come visit you in the near future! We would LOVE that!!

  2. Oh, Stephanie, you have no idea how much we'd love to have you all visit! I wanna get my hands on some baby love from your little munchkin. I love munchkins, and munchkins that are related to mine are the best! Of course, we'd love to see you two, as well!
